One Word...

Surreal.

Honestly, it's the only description I could com up with upon gatecrashing a UPLB Layb meeting (for the unenlightened, Layb is this literary org that hangs out in - you guessed it - the Main Library).

The setting of the Main Lib at night, with the chill breeze, the dance of the constellations on night's celestial stage, the groups of other people (both artists and not) talking, laughing, singing the music of surreal creativity. Factor in the idle yet intelligent discussion about anything and everything under the moon (it is, after all, night), and the stage is set for your outbursts of enlightenment, embodied in the sublime messages residing in freshly drafted poetry.

Layb: Live at the Lib.

...

Plugging is fun.

*Big, innocent grin, like the one they use in Yahoo! Messenger*

Reg was absolute Hell...

... as usual.

Waiting for hours in the sweltering heat for a piece of paper with a few stamp marks on it is hardly anyone’s idea of spending an entire morning and afternoon. I actually considered myself lucky for being able to complete reg that day (with a lot of help from my friends, who were kind enough to save my spot in a line that wound around the entire building).

At least things got better on the trip home.

Saw my muse in the bus going home. She waved hi, and sat down two seats in front of me. Wish I hadn't accompanied my dormmate on the trip home, the seat beside mine would've been empty. Oh well...

I confess, I enjoyed watching her from my two-seat distance. Just watching. She looked so cute, her head bobbing from side to side in a seemingly futile attempt to stay awake in spite of all the spent energy and boredom from reg and the trip itself.

What I learned that day: my muse lives in the Metro, not in Los Banos.

*Disclaimer: Feel free to disregard and/or forget anything and/or everything I have just written.

I now know everything there is to know about myself!

With the sembreak, I've recently been amusing myself with these things they call, um... Blogthings. You've probably seen them, these little messages people post, showing little tidbits of information about the person who posted them, things like, "You have a (insert adjective here) personality!", or "You like (insert anything here)!", results of a test the person takes at the site.

These things are mostly supposed to be for fun. I think. Personality tests, in my opinion, are meant to be.

Why, then, do I sometimes get shudders when reading results that, when I introspect, tell the truth about who I am?

Why do people (including me, gullible to these things as I am) even take these things? Are they supposed to be affirmations of our identities, for those of us who simply have a hard time understanding ourselves?

And take note, these things attempt to tell EVERYTHING about you, from the serious (love life, outlook on life, personality, ideal partner-crap, etc.) to the plain stupid (what kind of pizza you are, your job in a past life - like I said, stupid stuff).

Enough talk. See what these results mean, if they do mean anything.

Cheese Pizza

Traditional and comforting.
You focus on living a quality life.
You're not easily impressed with novelty.
Yet, you easily impress others.

What's Your Pizza Personality?

Your Ideal Relationship is Serious Dating

You're not ready to go walking down the aisle.
But you may be ready in a couple of years.
You prefer to date one on one, with a commitment.
And while chemistry is important, so is compatibility.

What's Your Ideal Relationship?

How You Life Your Life

You are honest and direct. You tell it like it is.
You're laid back and chill, but sometimes you care too much about what others think.
You prefer a variety of friends and tend to change friends quickly.
You tend to dream big, but you worry that your dreams aren't attainable.

How Do You Live Your Life?

In a Past Life...

You Were: An Evil Jester.

Where You Lived: Quebec.

How You Died: Suicide.

Who Were You In a Past Life?

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.

In love, you feel the most alive when everything is uncertain, one moment heaven... the next moment hell.

You'd like to your lover to think you are stylish and alluring.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was ruthless, cold-blooded, and sarcastic.

Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something that will confine you. You are afraid of marriage.

In this moment, you think of love as something you can get or discard anytime. You're feeling self centered.

What Are The Keys To Your Heart?

According to these results, I should be a traditional, impressive, one-on-one, compatibility-seeking, direct, laid back, peer pressured, ambitious, uncertain, sarcasm-hating, open, marriage-phobic, self-centered person who was once a Quebec-ian Evil Jester who killed himself.

...

What-everrrrr.
